The hair loss problem can be rising due to a number of factors both internally and externally. There is one reason that is only addressed by the hair transplant procedure is the Androgenic alopecia or the genetic baldness. The patient suffering from the genetic or hereditary hair loss occurs due to the combined effect of the genes and hormone. The hair transplant is the most effective solution to address the baldness permanently as the roots are taken out from the safe or the DHT-resistant part of the scalp, i.e., the occipital and parietal part of the scalp.

The Severe Hair Thinning, Pattern Hair Loss and the Wider Forehead in Women:
The hair loss problem in women has many reasons and so the solution is diversified. However, the treatment ranges from one option to another and classified into 3 categories, i.e., the medications, therapy, and the surgical option. The treatment option widely depends on the reason and the type of hair loss that must be evaluated rightly with the expert guidance of the hair transplant surgeon. The medications are allowed when the reason for the loss is temporary and there’s an effect of the hormonal change, pregnancy or menopause. The therapy like PRP is recommended when a female patient facing severe hair thinning and do not possess the eligibility criteria to receive the hair restoration procedure. The surgical option is the final option to treat the pattern baldness as a permanent cure to the unpleasing hair loss problem.

Why Hair Loss Occurs?
There are a multiple reasons for causing the hair loss in women in which most common cause is the effect of hormones. The genes and hormonal effect are termed as the Androgenic alopecia and apart from this; the auto-immune caused hair loss is termed as the Alopecia areata. The temporary cause of hair loss includes the pregnancy, thyroid imbalance, chemotherapy or particular medication.

The Hair Thinning Problem in Women: -
The hair thinning problem in women is caused by the Androgenic alopecia or thyroid problems that can be addressed with certain medications like Minoxidil. This drug comes in a topical option and can be continued for treating the issue of Alopecia areata (spot baldness) or genetic baldness. This medication can be used for both men and women. The women pattern baldness is majorly seen with the hair thinning problem as the complete picture of total baldness doesn’t occur in women.

The Female Pattern Baldness on Ludwig Scale: -
The Ludwig scale is used to measure the extent of hair loss in females. This scale has 3 categories that are measured with the increasing extent of hair loss. The type-I of hair loss on the Ludwig scale define the early thinning of hair that can be easily camouflaged. It is the very primary stage of pattern hair loss that can be treated with the proper medicines.

The type-II loss is a moderate stage that may or may not need the hair transplant procedure. The type-II loss can be characterized by the noticeable decrease in volume and widening the gap between the mid-line areas.

The type-III state of hair loss on the Ludwig scale is characterized by the extreme thinning of hair, which is easily visible and often associated with the generalized thinning.

The Surgical Method to treat Female Pattern Baldness: -
The hair transplant procedure is all allowed to treat the pattern hair loss in women, but choosing the right technique has a great importance in the procedure that affects the outcomes significantly. The FUT technique of the hair transplant is mostly accepted in the case of the female as it doesn’t need head-shaving as the FUE method of restoration needed. The hair restoration is the best option to solve the issue of wider forehead in women because of the regrowth property of hair transplant procedure.

The Procedure Method of FUT/Strip method of the surgery: -
Likewise, the FUT technique in men, the method of the strip harvesting is all same in case of women. The strip is excised from the safe donor part of the scalp that is a DHT-sensitive and further transplanted into the hair loss affected areas. The regrowth of hair takes the normal process and accept the hair growth cycle. The regeneration of hair root started after a minor shedding phase and the transplanted roots adopt the natural characteristic of hair roots. However, the roots grow normally and maintain the natural tendency to receive length, colour, calibre, and texture.

The PRP Session: -
The PRP session or the platelet-rich plasma injection is also recommended to treat the hair loss issue in women. The PRP injection is given into the hair loss affected areas of the scalp by taking the fresh blood from the patient’s own body part. It promotes the process of faster healing as well as the growth of hair. It can also be allowed with the hair transplant procedure in order to make the treatment a Bio-effective.
So, it is good to attend the primary consultation with your Doctor to know about the best cure of your problem as the surgical restoration needs a proper evaluation in order to meet the aesthetic goal of the surgery.
